And 1.12+ versions of minecraft don t work well for bridging and are extreamly lagy and as you said it would be trumenthus work for the devs as it would requier to change every plugins and data packs

Agreed, it doesn't seem very useful. Plus, most users for PVP, bridging, and other competitive Minecraft playstyles don't use any version higher than 1.8.9.
