Currently, when you connect to the AFK lobby you are given stone tools. You can also hit players in the lobby. Once you hit them they are moved to the main lobby. Your player remains in that lobby until you move. Swinging a sward/punching is not detected as not being AFK. In my opinion, an easy way to fix this is removing the stone tools from the player's inventory and using the world guard to turn off PVP. You may have to go into the config files of ESS and turn off the new player join that gives them tools.
